My Story: Trace Monson

Coming from a background where both of my parents competed in local and national level Fitness, Figure, and Bodybuilding shows, it's fair to say the fitness industry sucked me in early. At 11 years old, instead of getting toys, clothes, or video games for Christmas, I was given my first gym membership. The fitness bug bit me then and hasn't let go since. By age 16, I had five years of lifting experience under my belt, and I decided it was time to up my game and start learning more about proper nutrition.

After working with several nutrition coaches with varying approaches that resulted in less-than-ideal results, I ultimately found a coach with a nutrition strategy that worked. The program was highly personalized and specialized in proper nutrition techniques. My body was finally getting the fuel it needed. It allowed me to maximize my training in the gym and empowered me to reach my overall body composition and athletic goals; I had the two best football seasons of my life, countless PR's in the gym, and a weight loss of over 80 pounds! This experience had such a positive impact on me that it sparked an interest to help others in the way that I was helped, so I started my journey to become a nutrition coach.

With my coach as my mentor, I enrolled in the Nutritional Coaching Institute (NCI) and completed my nutrition coaching certification as well as completed the J3 University certification specializing in physique competition coaching strategies. I also began extensive and in-depth one-on-one mentoring sessions with my coach, where I learned the details of the program and the unique strategy of how to apply specialized nutrition techniques to an individual's goals. In combination, this knowledge prepared me to take on an array of clients with a wide variety of overall health, fitness, and nutrition goals and aspirations.
